The kitchen was a good size but was in need of space planning and problem solving. This couple both enjoy creating meals and entertaining, so we added a preparation center and a baking center.

Problem

The pantry was awkward and had wasted space.

Solution

We used pantry cabinets and lengthened the counter.

Problem

Client hit his head on the island light pendants.

Solution

With correctly sized and placed lighting, hitting your head is longer an option.

Problem Stove too close to the brick column

Solution

The primary cooking area was moved. (shown above)

We created a secondary bake/prep area in the old stove location. Where did that brick column go?

Ventilation system lacking.

Solution

Hood upgraded to larger and quieter

Problem

The sink center and window were too close to the corner.

Solution

The sink and window were moved down the wall.

Problem

The double-hung window sash was in the line of view out to the yard

Solution

Window changed to a large awning window
